I stayed at this rustic lodge a few years ago and absolutely loved the redwood outdoor hot tubs.
While technically they’re not private to your room, during my three-night stay I had them all to myself every single time, especially at night under the stars.
Now, these aren’t just any hot tubs; but are filled with local hot spring water that’s great for circulation, pain relief, stress reduction and more.
In the tubs, you’ll be surrounded by lush nature through colorful gardens and views extending up the hillside up toward the mountain tops in the distance.
The lodge is located in the small mining town of Ouray; one of my favorite cities in Colorado.
Make sure to wander down Main Street to check out the local shops, many of which sell handmade goods.
Stop for a delicious “scrap cookie” — made with the previous day’s cookie scraps — at Mouse’s Chocolates & Coffee, and have a steak and local beer at The Outlaw, where you can also wear John Wayne’s cowboy hat.
Finally, don’t miss a 4×4 tour down the “Million Dollar Highway,” a gorgeous 25-mile stretch along Route 550.

That’s a luxurious stay in the hotel with such great amenities – one being private hot tubs. I am so glad to learn the many therapeutic benefits a hot bath in a tub offers. Besides the scenic views and marvelous outdoor setting of all the hotels mentioned is mesmerizing. It’s comforting to watch the video and the pictures of these luxurious stays to say the least.
