The Olympic Games are the hottest topic in news and travel right now. While most people are up to speed on what’s going on for the 2012 event, have you wondered how the current Olympics compare to those from the past?   • The first Olympic Games are thought to have taken place in 776 B.C. at Olympia in Greece
  • The United States leads the medal count in the modern era of the event, with 2,298 Summer Games medals
  • This isn’t the first time the Olympics have been held in London. This city also played host in 1908 and 1948
